Implementation of risk-based surveillance

Development of one of the first AI applications in the federal authorities in Switzerland; introduction of an AI-supported rule engine for risk assessment, which, together with BI components in a local cloud, is seamlessly integrated into the organisation’s business processes.

Digital transformation of a public-sector authority
2021–2022 Federal authorities (Switzerland)
Digitalisation of all processes in the administrative unit for seamless, media-consistent integration of all business cases into the federal authorities’ Business management system. At the same time, a comprehensive reorganisation of the office area took place.

Research on microfinancing as a way to fight poverty
2018 Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) (Kinshasa)
Identifying key factors for microfinancing in the Democratic Republic of Congo with new, systemic approaches. Designing a microfinancing initiative in the DRC in collaboration with microfinancing institutions, banks, telecommunications providers and official institutions.

Implementation of UCC in the Swiss Federal Authorities
2013–2016 Federal Authorities (Switzerland
Pioneering work in public administration: replacement of analogue telephony with the implementation of digital communication technology (UCC – Unified Communication & Collaboration) in federal authorities as a basis for new forms of collaboration.

Development of a GIS-based infrastructure information system.

Concept and realisation of an infrastructure information system (IIS) for Telkom Kenya based on ArcInfo/ESRI.

Development of project and portfolio management

Implementation of a standardised project and delivery methodology. Reduction of the average project implementation time by half through the introduction of innovative project management processes.

Transformation and integration into the France Télécom group
2010–2012 Orange – Telkom Kenya (Nairobi)
Implementation of a new ERP/CRM (Oracle eBusiness Suite) at Orange-Telkom Kenya. Successful integration of external suppliers and offshore teams.

Outsourcing of the IT of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB)
2005–2007 Swisscom IT Services (Switzerland)
Development of the operation and maintenance of the client environment of the SBB, the data and Citrix servers, the salessystems and the helpdesk platform as well as the support of the SAP platform. The company achieved a leading position in the Swiss outsourcing market.

Re-engineering of the system stack for UMTS services
2003–2005 O2 Germany-Telefonica (Germany)
Ensuring the implementation of UMTS, developing the first volume-based services and, in parallel, completely restructuring the delivery processes. Introduction of the first data flat rate on the German telecommunications market.

Setting up a data warehouse as a service centre
2001–2003 Cellway (Germany)
Development of a mobile information system for the sales force. Integration of the Cellway data warehouse into the Mobilcom corporate structure.

Design and piloting of an intelligent and cooperative traffic management system in the Munich region
1999–2001 SSP Consult (Germany)
Many parts of this public-private partnership initiative, such as the central data network, digital parking management or the development of multimedia services for mobility, acted as a blueprint for many other regions and are now essential to modern traffic management.

Regional Transport Plan for the Greater Stuttgart Area

Development of simulation tools for environmental analyses as part of the Regional Transport Plan for the Greater Stuttgart Area. Creation of digital city and landscape models and simulations for the propagation of noise and pollutants, from urban micro-models to regional scales.
